What is creamed honey?

Our infused varieties are made with Australian honey and selected flavour ingredients such as ginger, cinnamon, lemon and black seed. Always check the ingredient list on the product page for the exact recipe.
How should I store my Metuka honey?
Store your honey in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. There is no need to refrigerate it.
Can creamed honey become firmer over time?
Yes. Natural honey can change texture depending on temperature and storage conditions. This is normal and does not mean the product has gone bad.
Can I soften my honey if it becomes too firm?
Yes. Place the closed jar in gently warm water for a short time until it softens. Avoid overheating the honey.
What can I use creamed honey for?
Creamed honey is ideal on toast, crumpets, pancakes, yoghurt, porridge or fruit. You can also stir it into tea or use it in simple recipes and marinades.
What is the difference between the flavours?
Each variety has its own character. Ginger is warm and aromatic, Cinnamon is rich and spiced, Lemon is bright and citrusy, Lemon & Ginger combines freshness with warmth, while Black Seed has a stronger, more savoury botanical profile.
Is Black Seed Honey different from the other flavours?
Yes. Black Seed Honey is intentionally more intense and less dessert-like than the rest of the range. It combines honey with black seed, ginger, cinnamon, citrus and bee pollen for a bold, concentrated flavour profile.
Is Black Seed Honey meant to be eaten like regular honey?
It can be enjoyed by the spoon, but its flavour is stronger and more concentrated than the other varieties. We recommend following the serving guidance shown on the product label.
Does raw honey naturally crystallise?
Yes. Crystallisation is a natural characteristic of honey and can happen over time. It does not reduce the quality of the product.
Is your honey pasteurised?
Metuka honey is presented as raw and unpasteurised. The product labels should always be used as the final reference for each variety.

Are all Metuka honeys the same sweetness?
